Research Experience

  • Jan.2006
Topic: Course project of “Introduction of Artificial Intelligence”
My Work: Used Genetic algorithm and Simulated Annealing algorithm to solve Traveling Salesman Problem then evaluated and compared the results. Finally I got 97 points (out of 100) in this course

  •  Jan.2006-Jun.2006
Place: AI Lab, CS department of Tsinghua University
    Advisor: Associate professor MingXing Xu
My Work: Attended a project to identify vehicle license, using different means of machine learning to implement the process of pattern recognition (including pattern matching, KNN and ANN).

  • Aug.2006-Sep.2006
Topic: Professional Practice (Fingerprint identification group)
    Advisor: Professor LianHong Cai
My Work: Lead our group to design a new algorithm of fingerprint matching, based on the direct matching of ridges on fingerprint around feature points. Performance of our algorithm is excellent (FAR and FRR both less than 5%) so I was selected to give a presentation to all classmates and obtained the highest mark (96 out of 100)

  • Jul.2006-Jan.2007
Place: AI lab, CS department of Tsinghua University
    Advisor: Professor ChunFa Yuan
Work: Joined a project to analyze and use FlexCRF to segment and label sequence data. I independently finished the works of code transplantation (from Linux to Windows) and interface implementation (by MFC). Later I helped our group implemented some improvement to original system and our paper Domain Extension of Chinese Named Entity Recognition was admitted to JSCL07 (National Joint Symposium of Computational Linguistics)  Paper (Chinese doc version)

  •  Mar.2007-Jul.2007
Place: AI lab, CS department of Tsinghua University
    Advisor: Instructor JianMin Li
Work: In my Bachelor's Thesis, I finished the work of Duplicate Video Detection. I proposed two algorithms to complete the work basing on Trecvid advertisement database.
